When I was a teen, my mother would drag me along to one of her apartment buildings or to one of her houses she was remodeling to do some work. I would work by cutting the grass, painting the interior or by just picking up trash. My reward was $10 and a trip to the local ice cream parlor. I never understood back then why she would remodel these houses or why she always made them look so beautiful. Now I do!
